Lighthouse uses a variety of assessment tools which are chosen specifically to meet the needs of the client. Examples include: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI), Firo-B™, Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i®), CPI 260™, and the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI). Laurie Mills is a certified practitioner of these assessments, including Step I and Step II Myers-Briggs Type Indicators.
MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®)
The MBTI® is a versatile, widely used tool. It explores behavioral preferences in four dimensions that reflect how we prefer to get energy, process information, make decisions and relate to our external world. The MBTI® promotes self awareness as well as an appreciation for differences in others. Numerous personalized Type profile reports are available to support leadership and team development, relationship building, individual performance and career planning.
Firo-B™ (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behaviour™)
The combined MBTI® and Firo-B™ Leadership Profile is specifically designed for enhancing personal effectiveness by assessing leadership behaviour from several perspectives. It offers insights into interpersonal needs and behaviours, and offers practical tips for improving relationships.
BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi-)®
Understanding and managing our own emotions is considered one of the key elements of personal effectiveness and quality leadership. The EQ-i® tool helps us to better understand our emotions and behaviours as these relate to how we manage ourselves (intrapersonal) and how we manage our relationships with others (interpersonal).
The EQ-i® is often used to support executive coaching. It is a powerful tool which can help turn a good leader into an exceptional one. In personal coaching as well, it offers profound insights for anyone ready to make behavioural changes to enhance their quality of life.
The CPI 260™ is used to self assess individual strengths in the following core performance areas of management and leadership: Self Management; Organization and Planning; Teambuilding and Teamwork; Problem Solving; and Sustaining the Vision.
Key benefits of the CPI 260™ report are: it helps individuals better understand their own preferences, attitudes and behaviours as leaders; it supports action plans to enhance leadership strengths and address areas of potential development.
Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI)
The LPI is a 360 degree, or multi-rater, assessment tool that helps leaders determine the extent to which they actually use certain leadership behaviours and practices. It allows them to compare self perception with observers’ interpretation of their leadership style.
One of the main benefits of the LPI is that it provides individuals with additional and diverse perspectives on their leadership effectiveness. The overall goals of the LPI are to reinforce strengths, identify potential areas for improvement and create action plans for personal development.
